For The Boys! Blog Hop: Reading Cushion

It's the final day of the For the Boys blog hop organised by Madam Samm from Sew We Quilt and Amy from Sew Incredibly Crazy.

When I found out about the blog hop, I just jumped at the chance to join in. I do a lot of sewing for my little man and I thought it would be a great way to get a start on sewing some Christmas presents.

I've been tossing around the idea of a reading cushion for a while now. We're very much into our books at the moment and I know I love snuggling up with a good book, so I'd like to encourage R to do the same.

I quilted the pocket in straight lines, not that you can really tell but it does make it nice and sturdy while still being comfortable to sit on.

The closure is a covered zip which was really easy to do and gives the back a nice finish.

Be sure to check out these other awesome bloggers and their For the Boys posts ......

Sweet little cushion! I've been thinking about making cushions too...I babysit a couple of little ones so I spend a lot of time sitting on the floor reading with them (so the most important cushion would be mine!).

Terrific idea! Anything that helps reading along is a good thing. That he will be stylin' doing it is even better, thanks to Mum. I know my siblings and I practically lived at the library growing up especially in the summer months. Mom was never upset with us for having our nose in a book because she did the same thing---as long as the chores were done first.

What a great idea! My grandson loves to read as much as I do so this would make a wonderful present for him. I love the way you made yours and the fabric choices. I also like the zipper so the cover can be taken off and washed. Thank you for sharing.

Great idea! You stuffed it with a pillow form? I've enjoyed many of your other posts/projects, too: I loved the I Spy Bag, but could never find the variety of small toys needed (any suggestions?) and have book-marked your plastic bag dispenser. The crayon tote is in my near-future! Thanks!
